The Rosario Center is the foundational area and the heart of the city's economic and social activity. It is characterized by a very high density of buildings in height in almost all the territory it covers, although the tallest buildings are currently in the northern area. The only exception is the traditional Barrio Parque located in the southwest, which is of a residential nature with a predominance of family houses.
The microcenter is the sector around the Plaza 25 de Mayo and the pedestrian San Martín and Córdoba, reaching the Monument to the Flag. This sector is characterized by an intense gastronomic and commercial movement. To the south of the Microcentro is the traditional Barrio Martin, characterized by a mixture of traditional houses and mansions and modern apartment towers. The west of the center has a similar character, residential but with many towers in height.
Location and geography
Rosario Centro is located on the banks of the Paraná River. It has the shape of a triangle with the Oroño Boulevard, Carlos Pellegrini Avenue and just over 4 km of river coast as limits, including the Independence Park and the traditional Barrio Parque that are located southwest of this triangle.
Several museums and cultural centers are located in the central Rosario area, highlighting the Parque de España Cultural Complex with the Prince of Asturias Theater, the nearby Cultural Expressions Center (CEC) and the El Círculo Theater. Among the museums stand out the Museum of Memory and the Provincial Historical Museum Doctor Julio Marc. In the sector of Barrio Martin are the Humberto de Nito Municipal Amphitheater and the Munici Planetarium
